Wow Mobile Game reveal

Set to start at 10am (pt) 1pm(est) expected length is up in the air. All we know is it’s a mobile game set in the World of Warcraft universe. That’s it, some guesses at what it could be I’ve seen theories of Clash Royale type game, Tower defense game, an auto battler. The idea of a whole Livestream for the games makes sense to me since their last mobile game announcement of a staple franchise. Diablo Immortals the Diablo mobile game was received in bad light. So a stream of its own for the Wow Mobile game seems to be a way for Blizzard to mitigate any bad reception to the game.

The Game

Warcraft Arclight Rumble

Looks to be one part clash royale one-part strategy game the gameplay looks to be fast-paced-ish looking at the gameplay they showed. I didn’t get that sense. It felt like the units were very slow. Focusing on generating resources to summon units by mining gold nodes on the map. The main difference so far between clash royale and other tower defense games as the reveal puts it as a “Tower Offense” game. It appears mainly to be focusing on co-op/PvE focus gameplay. With some PvP options not yet explained in depth along with dungeons and Raids again not explained in depth yet. Boasting  60 minions/leader to collect across 5 factions Alliance, Horde, Black rock, Undead, and Beasts factions. With leaders buffing and altering some aspects of your minions from grabbing more gold on downing a tower to decreasing the amount of gold needed for summoning a specific type of unit. Along with talents for your minions to unlock one example they gave is an invisibility smoke bomb on placement affecting other units.

Ultimately it looks to be at least an interesting game to try for free. You can pre-register on the play store and the apple store. The reveal was only 10 minutes long with the promise of more news soon and beta in select regions. Until they talk about the monetization of the hero/minion collector part. I’ll reserve judgment but ultimately this looks to be a fun game to try. If it doesn’t end up being bogged down by a greedy or messy monetization system.
